what is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a safe and highly effective physical exfoliation procedure. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the surface of the skin, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair. It cleverly triggers the skin cell regeneration process helping to improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. The effects of treatment are instant, leaving your skin looking smooth and radiant.

Dermaplaning can be had as a standalone treatment, up to once every 4 weeks or it can be combined with a chemical peel.
It is not suitable for all skin types, for instance, sensitive skin types, inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea. Active acne must also be avoided, although the rest of the face can be treated.
Following Dermaplaning the deeper layers of skin are more exposed, and as a result penetration of skincare products is much more effective, equally the skin is more exposed to the environment and therefore requires a strict aftercare regimen.
Dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker, it is impossible to change the structure of a hair follicle by shaving it. After Dermaplanng the hair will growth back the exact same thickness and colour as it was before.

PREPARATION

Avoid excess direct sun exposure
No waxing or Laser Hair Removal/IPL treatments on the face

No depilatory use on face

Stop using active ingredients on the skin
No Chemical Peel treatments

On the day of treatment, we ask you to present with no make-up. If this is not possible we will remove it for you. Your skin will be prepared ready for treatment. Once treatment is complete we will verbally discuss your aftercare treatment, you will be given a thorough aftercare leaflet to take home with you.
AFTERCARE

Cancellations must be received no later than 48 hours prior to the arrival date of your appointment.
Treatment deposits are non-refundable if the booking is cancelled within 48 hours of your appointment, as per our cancellation policy. However, if you wish to reschedule or cancel outside of the 48-hour period we will happily transfer your appointment or refund you the deposit amount.
